-- Renewable Energy Systems
Solar, wind, hydroelectric, and hybrid systems can be designed to fit the needs of any living situation-remote homes and cabins, boats, RVs, and on-grid homes. Back-up systems can be installed in homes on the grid to run critical loads during power outages.

Photovoltaic
Solar, (Photovoltaic) panels are constructed using lab-grown crystals sliced into thin wafers. They are then wired together and attached to a panel. When in contact with sunlight, they generate electricity. Solar panels can be used as a utility intertie to reduce on-grid consumption, alone for off-grid homes, or as part of a hybrid system. The modular design of solar panel arrays lends itself to expansion at a later date, so you can start with a small array and add to it later.

Wind
Permit application, installation, and maintenance are more extensive with wind systems than with solar. However, if you have a viable site, a wind turbine is a cost-effective addition to a renewable energy system.

Micro-hydroelectric

Hydro systems can be installed where a small to medium-sized back country stream is available. Water is collected in a small bucketed wheel which spins the turbine to generate electricity. Special considerations should be taken into account for freezing in winter and debris build-up. Once again, permit applications, maintenance, and installations are more complex with hydro systems.

-- Site Analysis and Design
To determine the right system for you, a site analysis needs to be done. A survey of the site will determine which systems can be utilized, and to determine the size of the system required based on your total energy consumption. Some components of the site analysis are:
  • the distance between the battery bank/grid intertie and place of generation
  • Home size, energy usage, and requirements
  • Lay of the land (for wind, hydro, and hybrid systems)
  • Exposure to mid-day sun

Forms are available for calculating generation needs based on usage.

We will provide a site analysis for a $75.00 fee which includes:

  • site consultation and survey
  • 2 hours of preliminary system design(complex systems will require more time and analysis).

This $75.00 fee will be credited to installation and/or purchases exceeding $1,000.00. A mileage fee of of $.75 per mile will be attached for sites beyond a 50-mile radius.

-- Outdoor Wood Boiler Systems

Due to rising cost of utilities in general, many people are looking to replace their conventional heating sources with more cost-effective fuel sources.

If you have access to plentiful firewood, an outdoor wood boiler system may be right for you.
These units can be tied into existing water heaters, heating systems of forced-air and hot water baseboard, or radiant floor heating. Large fireboxes and loading doors allow consumers to load larger pieces and amounts of wood so that the furnace needs to be loaded less frequently.

Based on personal experience, Heatmor; units offer exceptional quality and reliability. Modular design, stainless steel construction, ash auger, and power vent are only some of the high-quality features available on Heatmor units. With the ability to heat between 3000 sq. ft. with the model 100CSS to 25,000 sq. ft. plus for commercial applications with the model 800CSS, a model suited for your needs is available. We can design and install your outdoor wood boiler system.

Make your home more energy efficient!

We can help you choose from a variety of energy-efficient appliances that will help your home consume fewer resources. Energy-efficient ranges, washing machines, toilets, refrigerators, solar exterior lighting, solar attic fans, and low voltage water pumps are some of the products that are available.
